Starting the week of Monday, October 22, 2026, the Big Bear Area Regional Wastewater Agency Greenspot Recharge Project team will conduct about one week of preliminary field testing at the proposed recharge site at the southwest corner of State Lane and Hatchery Drive in the Erwin Lake community.

Results from the testing will provide information on soil and groundwater conditions on the site that will help the project team determine the optimal size and location of recharge basins.

This testing is not construction of the project. It is part of the project's design process. The BBARWA Governing Board has not approved funding and construction of the project so no construction can begin.

 

What to expect:

• Work is expected to take approximately one week and occur between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
• Contractors will perform geophysical surveys, soil borings, and soil characterization at up to 13 locations on the site.
• Each trench and boring will be opened and filled in the same day.
• Crews will apply water to control dust from digging and vehicles.
• No significant traffic impacts are expected.
• Noise associated with construction vehicles will be intermittent throughout the day.
